Märchentagen, Berlin

The 14th Märchentage in Berlin were dedicated to the myths, legends and fairy tails of the Mediterranean, more specifically Greece and Italy. Eleven days with 650 events in more than 200 places and 200 partners transformed the German capital into a place of fantasy for children and grown ups. The European oral tradition of myths and legends start with Homer’s Odyssey and Iliad. This was the beginning of the festivities which expanded to all directions of the available literary history, from antiquity to the renaissance and all the way to our times.
