Al-Riwaq Exhibition Space for the Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum, Doha
This mega-exhibition was initiated by the director of the Hellenic Foundation for Culture Berlin and co-organized by the Martin-Gropius-Bau, the German Archaeological Institute, the Antikensammlung in Berlin and the Qatar Museums Authority in Doha. The concept of the exhibition was threefold: the history of the Sanctuary, the history of the Olympic Games and the history of the excavations. The art works presented in the show were borrowed, only to mention the most important, from the collections of the Olympia Archaeological Museum and the National Museum of Greece as well as the Antikensammlung in Berlin. EUNIC Berlin organized a programme of parallel activities to the exhibition, such as historical films and lectures.
